These terms and conditions govern reservations and stays at Hotel German Residency, Srinagar ("the Hotel"), whether booked on this website, by phone, by email, through a travel agent or through an online travel portal. By making a reservation or checking in, you agree to them.
1. Reservations and confirmation
- A reservation request places rooms on hold. It becomes a confirmed booking only when the Hotel confirms it by phone, email or WhatsApp on the contact details you provided. Unconfirmed holds may be released without notice.
- Rates are quoted per room per night for the selected meal plan, in Indian Rupees. Applicable taxes are charged as per Government of India rules and are shown on your invoice.
- Rates on travel portals are governed by the terms shown on that portal at the time of booking.
2. Payment and advance
- Confirmation may require an advance payment, as stated when you book. The remaining balance is payable at the Hotel at check-in.
- The Hotel accepts cash, UPI, bank transfer and major debit and credit cards. The Hotel does not store your card, UPI or banking credentials.
- All charges are settled at check-out. Guests remain responsible for any charges unpaid by a third party who booked on their behalf.
3. Cancellation Policy – individual (FIT) bookings
- Any confirmed booking can be cancelled 30 days before the check-in date with full refund.
- If cancelled between 14 and 29 days before the check-in date, a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the accommodation charge will be levied.
- If cancelled less than 14 days before the check-in date, or in case of no-show, the entire booking amount will be levied as retention charges.
- A processing charge of ₹500 per person applies to every refund and to every change made to a confirmed booking (dates, meal plan, guests or guest names). Changes are subject to availability and any difference in rate.
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method. To cancel, contact the Hotel in writing with your booking reference.
- Reducing the number of rooms is a cancellation of the rooms dropped. Cancellation charges as above apply to the rooms dropped, and the processing charge applies to the change.
4. Cancellation Policy – group bookings and group tours
This policy applies to bookings of 5 rooms or more, and to every booking made as part of a group tour, whatever the number of rooms.
- Confirmation requires an advance of 50% of the total booking amount. The balance is payable 15 days before the check-in date. Bookings not paid by then may be released without notice.
- If cancelled 45 days or more before the check-in date, 50% of the total booking amount will be levied as cancellation charges.
- If cancelled less than 45 days before the check-in date, or in case of no-show, late arrival or early departure, the entire booking amount will be levied as retention charges.
- Reducing the number of rooms, guests or nights is a cancellation of the rooms or nights dropped. Cancellation charges as above apply to the rooms or nights dropped, and the processing charge below applies to the change.
- A processing charge of ₹500 per person applies to every refund and to every change made to a confirmed group booking (dates, meal plan, guests or guest names). Changes are subject to availability and any difference in rate.
5. Check-in and check-out
- Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 noon. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may be charged.
- As required by Indian law, every guest must present valid government-issued photo identification at check-in (Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or driving licence). Foreign nationals must present a passport with a valid visa.
- The Hotel may refuse check-in to guests who cannot produce valid identification.
6. Occupancy, children and extra beds
- Occupancy must not exceed the number of guests booked, including extra beds. Additional guests are charged at the prevailing extra-bed or extra-person rate.
- Children's and extra-bed charges are as stated on the tariff at the time of booking.
- Visitors are not permitted in guest rooms. Guests may meet visitors in the lobby or restaurant.
7. Conduct and house rules
- Smoking is not permitted inside the rooms. A cleaning charge applies if this rule is broken.
- Pets are not permitted unless agreed in writing before arrival.
- Guests are responsible for any damage to the room, its contents or Hotel property caused by them or their visitors, and will be charged the cost of repair or replacement.
- The Hotel may refuse or end a stay, without refund, for unlawful behaviour or conduct that endangers or disturbs staff, other guests or property.
8. Valuables and liability
- Guests are advised to keep valuables in the room safe or deposit them at reception. The Hotel is not liable for loss of or damage to guests' belongings, including vehicles parked on the premises, except as required by law.
- The Hotel is not liable for events beyond its reasonable control, including weather, road closures, strikes, curfews, or disruption of utilities or internet service.
- The Hotel's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the booking concerned.
9. Privacy
Guest details collected at booking and check-in are used to provide the stay, meet legal record-keeping requirements and, where you have agreed, to send offers from the Hotel. They are not sold to third parties.
10. Changes to these terms
The Hotel may update these terms. The version published at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir have exclusive jurisdiction.
